Electric Power Steering uses ECUs and an electric motor mounted on the steering column or steering rack to assist the driver in turning the wheels in direct response to the driver’s steering wheel input.

Hydraulic Power Steering uses pressurised fluid driven by a power steering pump that pushes it through the steering rack, depending on how the driver turns the wheel.
